Former President George W. Bush has a new passion now, he’s painted 98 wounded warriors he knows through the Bush Institute.
Over the past year, he painted portraits of men and women he’s gotten to know through his institute. He will be releasing a 192-page book titled: “Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors” – releasing Tuesday.
The book will include 64 of the finest work from President George W. Bush with forewords by Laura Bush and General Peter Pace, former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Portraits of Courage – A Commander In Chief’s Tribute To America’s Warriors is described as:
A vibrant collection of oil paintings and stories by President George W. Bush honoring the sacrifice and courage of America’s military veterans – and highlighting the work of the Bush institute’s military service initiatives.
All proceeds will be donated to the Bush Institute, where Military Service Initiative helps post-9/11 veterans, with a focus on employment and the invisible wounds of war.
